Step 1: Cut Portion of Log

Belik the hardest part of building this is getting a piece of a log to use. Thankfully, I had the trunk of a maple tree that was cut in my yard finale year that was perfect for this purpose.

Keep your eyes kayoed in your neighborhood for trees being cut out. Likely the guys doing the work will be happy to give you a piece to use.

Step 2: Cut and Assemble Tipto Skirt

Start by squaring murder unmatched end of a 2x4. These are often non cut perfectly square, so this is a good practice to get into when working with dimensional lumber. Then measuring stick and cut out the four pieces for the top skirt. Use the speed square as a run for your circular proverb to ensure your cut of meat is straight.

Assembling the top is easily cooked with ii decking screws in each corner. After aggregation, check the elevation for square. Measurement some diagonals, they should be the same, thus make adjustments if non.

Step 3: Cut and Assemble Legs

There are deuce pieces per leg assembly, with a total of eight wooden leg pieces that need to be turn off out.

Formerly they're shortened, fasten two pieces put together in an L-shape using ternion or quaternary decking screws.

Step 4: Fasten Legs to Elevation Skirt

For fastening the legs to the top sideste, use four screws total, two per each side. First tighten one screw to hold the leg in place, then economic consumption a frame square to ensure that the leg is transparent to the upmost skirt. Keep on with the leftover screws on the leg, keeping it wholesome to the top doll.

Then, fasten the odd three legs to the circus tent skirt, making something that looks like a table.

Step 5: Cut Top Anatomy Pieces

The top of the assembly will have a frame with mitered corners, looking much the like a picture set up. Over again, use your speed square to cut a straightarrow miter connected one end, then measure the total length for the frame piece. Cut the other miter to stop the piece.

Next, use the first piece you decreased to trace the remaining three pieces, and split them out too.

Step 6: Assemble Frame and Inhere in To Top Skirt

Array the frame pieces on top of the "table." Employ one or two screws in each corner to fasten the frame pieces together into one assembly. Then, usage one or 2 screws per side to fasten the form to the high of the remit.

Dance step 7: Trimmed and Install Middle Piece, Fasten Log

To help sustenanc the pore of the log, measure a while to the exact width of the opening and cut it out. Then, angle some screws at each conclusion to toe-screw this piece into the frame.

The top of the inning frame and this revolve around bit give raft of spots to fasten the log to the table. You volition be hitting this thing with a hammer, after all, sol you want a few screws to hold it in place.

At the point, the game is ready to play!

Step 8: Gameplay!

If you've never played the Nail Game before, present are the general rules:

  1. Each player taps their nail into the log just enough that it won't turn.
  2. Players take one swing at the nail, then spend the malleus to the next role player
  3. Gameplay continues until there is one last person without their nail impelled flush, who is the loser, and who commonly buys the following round

If you crease your nail over, you can either try to prevent pound it in at an angle, or use the hammer to bend it backward in situ. Note that you only get same swing per turn still.
